Economy SMT Air Coil Inductors Added to Sprague-Goodman’s SURFCOIL® Line

Westbury, NY…Sprague-Goodman has expanded its SURFCOIL® line to include low
cost, surface mount air coil inductors.

Designated the GL06, GL12, GL15 and GL25 Series, these new SMT coils include a broad range of inductance values, operating well into the GHz frequency range.

With high Q and a wide operating temperature range, these new SMT air coils are well suited for PCS/telecommunications, wireless LAN, GPS, and medical electronic equipment designs. They can be used for radio interference suppression devices, impedance matching, and filtering.

A flat epoxy layer along the top surface of the coil ensures inductance stability while enabling ease of pick and place. The ends of the windings are tinned for optimum solderability.

The price for all models from 1.65 nH to 538 nH is $0.188 each in quantities of 5,000.
Lead time for delivery is 6 weeks.

Small and Thin Surface Mount Trimmers Added to Sprague-Goodman’s Surftrim® Line

Westbury, NY…A new series of miniature, low profile surface mount trimmer capacitors has been added to the Sprague-Goodman SURFTRIM® line.

Models in this new GKRP series measure only 3.2 x 2.5 mm (0.125 x 0.098"), with a height of less than 1.3 mm (0.051") above the mounting surface. A thin silicone coating for protection allows usage for assembly processes that include washing.

Four capacitance ranges are offered: 3.0 - 5 pF, 3.0 - 10 pF, 5.0 - 20 pF and 7.0 - 30 pF. Q is 150 minimum at 1 MHz. Temperature coefficient of capacitance is NPO ±500 ppm/°C for the two lower ranges, and N750 ± 500 for the two higher ranges. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. Voltage rating is 25 VDC, and dielectric withstanding voltage is 75 VDC. Insulation resistance is 104 Megohms minimum. Tuning torque is 10 - 100 g-cm (0.14 - 2.08 oz in).

Carrier-and-reel packaging is standard. The unit price is $0.49 each for 2000 pieces supplied on a 7" (18 cm) reel. Lead time for delivery is 12 weeks.
