SURFCOIL® SMT Chip Inductors
(This bulletin is also available
as a pdf file.)
Features:
- High Q
- High self-resonant frequency including
nonmagnetic models in microwave range
- Shielded series use ferrite filled
encapsulation to reduce external magnetic coupling
- Low DC resistance
- Carrier and reel packaging is
standard
- Seven case sizes
Specifications:
Electrical
- Inductance & Q, etc. - See
tables
- Temperature range -20°C to
+85°C, except GLY, GLYC, GLTZ, GLZ and GLZP Models are -40°C to
+85°C
- Change of L = ± 10% max,
except GLX, GLY, GLYC, GLTZ, GLZ and GLZP Models are ± 5%
- Change of Q = ± 20% max,
except GLY, GLYC, GLTZ, GLZ and GLZP Models are ± 25%
- Rated Current: See tables. Current
rating is determined by either or both of the following conditions:
- Self heating raises SURFCOIL
temperature 20°C
- Inductance value reduced by
10% from saturation effect
Mechanical
- Suitable for wave flow soldering,
and infrared and vapor phase reflow. (Typically over 90% coverage)
- Withstands soldering temperatures
without damage
- Fully encapsulated and thermally
cycled for stability and highest reliability

(View applies to molded bobbin wound types)
|
- Encapsulation: Epoxy
resin all series; GLC, GLD and GLW have ferrite filler for closed magnetic
circuit.
- Core: Ferrite (except
high frequency GLA and GLU series, which are nonmagnetic)
- Coil: Polyurethane
enameled copper wire
- Terminal: Phosphor-Bronze
solder plated
